Bayesian Smoothing in the Estimation of the Pair Potential Function of Gibbs Point Processes

A flexible Bayesian method is suggested for the pair potential estimation with a high-dimensional parameter space. The method is based on a Bayesian smoothing technique, commonly applied in statistical image analysis. For the calculation of the posterior mode estimator a new Monte Carlo algorithm is developed. The method is illustrated through examples with both real and simulated data, and its extension into truly nonparametric pair potential estimation is discussed.

Vehicle crash modeling and reconstruction is an important field for research since the safety statistics from many countries show that the fatality rate of passenger vehicle occupants involved in road accidents is high. In particular, side impact are considered to be a serious problem. For this reason, in this paper, there is presented a methodology to reconstruct a given vehicle to road safety barrier oblique collision. A black-box, general purpose quadratic self-consistent field code with and without Cholesky Decomposition of the two-electron integrals

We present the implementation of a quadratically convergent self-consistent field (QCSCF) algorithm based on an adaptive trust-radius optimisation scheme for restricted open-shell Hartree���Fock (ROHF), restricted Hartree���Fock (RHF), and unrestricted Hartree���Fock (UHF) references. The algorithm can exploit Cholesky decomposition (CD) of the two-electron integrals to allow calculations on larger systems. This work compares two possible solutions to achieve a higher resolution in a hodoscope based on Plastic Scintillating Fibers (PSF) by obtaining the point of maximum incidence of the radioactive beam. The two fitting algorithms proposed have been tested and implemented in Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) devices. On one hand, a probabilistic model based on the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) and on the other hand, non-linear least-squares fit with the Levenberg-Marquardt Algorithm (LMA).

Abstract Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) is a very important feature of power system network. This work proposes the novel approach which considers the constraint of ramp rate limit (RRL) to solve the ELD problem.
